A WEST Kensington woman fought off an attacker at her own front door in Melbury Road.

She was unlocking her front door at about 11pm on Tuesday, July 2 after a night out with friends when the attacker grabbed her from behind.

He tried put his hand over her mouth but she turned, elbowed him and then pushed him away before screaming for help.

DC John Cahill, of Kensington and Chelsea CID, is appealing for any witnesses.

He said the suspect was: "Aged about 25, 5ft 6ins and of stocky build. He wore a grey top, possibly, and dark grey bottoms."
