A 16-year-old youth charged with the murder Jason Johnson was due to appear before magistrates in West Ealing at the weekend.

The youth was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life .

Mr Johnson was fatally shot in a secluded cut-through at the back of Cavendish Avenue in West Ealing last month.

The 24-year-old father, who grew up in Hanwell and lived in the area, was shot dead at around 8.50pm as he walked through the passage with two friends.

Officers from Operation Trident - which tackles gun crime in the black community - are leading the hunt for his murderer.
