A FEMALE driver on her way to work was tricked into getting out of her car and violently assaulted. The 50 year-old was driving along Harmondsworth Road, West Drayton at 7am when she noticed a group of youths peculiarly standing in the middle of the road, causing an obstruction.

She assumed there had been some sort of nasty accident and stopped to ask the four teenage boys and one girl, if she could help in any way.

One youth, described as a light-skinned young man, approached her green Proton car, and opened the passenger door, and the others got in the back of the car.

The incident took place last Tuesday (2), and the youths were wearing motorcycle helmets and had mopeds.

Worried for her safety, the victim got out of the car, where she was punched, kicked, and dragged to the floor in a vicious unprovoked attack.

The victim was left in shock and received bad cuts and bruises to her face and body.

T/DC Emma Thompson, said: “This was an unprovoked attacked given the time of day.

“The victim had stopped to help in case there was someone injured on the road. This assault has left the victim badly shaken.”

The police have appealed for witnesses to the assault, and are in particular hoping to speak to one driver who honked his horn during the attack.

“There would have been other drivers at this time of the morning going to work. In particular we would like to speak to the male driver who sounded his horn while the attack was happening.”

Mike Smooker, Crime Prevention Officer, urged drivers to be cautious when on the roads.

“Advice is to keep your car doors locked when driving. If you see an incident ask yourself if it is best to stop or would it be better to drive on to a safe place and call the emergency services to deal with it.

“Beware that incidents may be staged to distract you although these are not a common occurrence."

Anyone who may have seen, or know anything in relation to this assault to call Hillingdon CID on 020 8246 1447.

If you do not wish to speak to police and want to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
