CUSTOMERSmay miss out on festive getaways and long planned holidays after a travel agent based in Wembley went into administration.

Shenoy and Co (UK) Ltd, which trades as Reliable Holidays and Economy Travels, 'cannot or will not be able to meet obligations to customers' according to the Civil Aviation Authority.

TheCAA has received a number of calls from customers worried about their bookings after they received letters confirming the company has gone into administration.

The organisation was based at Continental House, Sunleigh Road, Wembley.

ChrisHarrison, from Devon, booked three tickets to Australia for a family visit this Christmas costing £2,700 from Economy Travels, but did not received his e-tickets.

MrHarrison said: "Luckily I knew they were ATOL registered and I also booked them by credit card so I was protected and I knew I would get my money back. The most difficult thing about it is having to book tickets for a Christmas break now. I ended up having to pay £4,200 for them elsewhere."

Many frustrated customers posted messages of complaint on travel forum websites to vent their anger.

Aspokesman for the CAA said: "The CAA is of the opinion that Shenoy & Co (UK) Ltd trading as Reliable Holidays cannot or will not be able to meet its obligations to its customers.

"Passengerswith bookings should check with the airline to ascertain if the tickets (either paper or e-tickets) have been issued. Passengers with bookings where tickets have not been issued may be able to claim a refund and should carefully read the letter attached to the claim form, which provides details on how to make a claim."

Reliable Holidays and Economy Travels declined to comment.
