A team of fifty Frankie & Benny’s employees in Wembley took on a 170ft abseil for a children’s charity last week.

On Saturday September 19, the brave team of abseilers, made up of Frankie & Benny’s head office staff along with restaurant employees and staff from across the UK, took on this vertigo-inducing challenge all to help grant magical wishes for children's charity, Rays of Sunshine.

The team have so far raised in excess of £2,000 for the charity with Frankie & Benny’s mascot Sketch also completing the abseil, which took place at the Rays of Sunshine offices.

Alongside the staff, a team from London Fire Brigade's Wembley station also came along to take on the challenge and support Rays of Sunshine.

Tara Cunningham, group marketing executive at Frankie & Benny’s, said: “The partnership we have with Rays of Sunshine is fantastic, the teams have got really behind the charity and it’s amazing to see the total fundraising figure keep rising!

“The abseil challenge was nerve-wracking but definitely worth it, especially when we see how many children are able to have their wishes granted through the money raised.”

Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be Frankie & Benny’s official charity partner.

“The group has already raised over £250,000 this year, which is a substantial contribution to our charity.

“Thanks to the commitment of Frankie & Benny’s and their dedicated staff, who have tirelessly fundraised and pushed themselves to take on incredible challenges, such as this, we will be able to fulfil hundreds of magical wishes for seriously ill children up and down the country.”
