The Met Office has extended a yellow weather warning for snow and ice after a sprinkling of the white stuff fell overnight in London and across the South East.
Showers of sleet and snow are forecast to continue to affect the area throughout the morning bringing around 1-2cm of snowfall.
Met Office experts also warned locals of the risk of ice on untreated seurfaces.
The warning, issued on Monday night (February 2) and valid until Tuesday, extends a warning which was issued earlier for possible snowfall on Wednesday (February 4).
The Met Office said: "The public should be aware of locally tricky driving conditions."
