A CHINESE man has been remanded in custody accused of clutching a petrol bomb outside a community building.Fook Ho is alleged to have been sitting on a bench outside The Wealdstone Centre in High Street, Wealdstone, on Friday July 19 at 2.30pm, when he threatened to use a lighter to set fire to a bottle filled with petrol he was holding alongside a plastic jerry can full of petrol.The Chinese national was arrested by police officers and later charged with ‘possession of an explosive substance in suspicious circumstances’ under the Explosive Substances Act 1883.The count the 50-year-old faces reads: “On July 19 2013 at High Street, Wealdstone, you knowingly had in your possession or under your control an explosive substance, namely petrol bombs, under such circumstances as to give rise to a reasonable suspicion that you did not have it in your possession or under control for a lawful object.”Ho, of no fixed address, appeared at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on Monday July 22 and, due to the seriousness of the charge, his case was automatically sent to Harrow Crown Court where there will be a plea hearing on August 2.
