ONCE again a meeting regarding global warming has been held, this time in Mexico. When will these people realise such an event is just a load of hot air?

In my school days, in the 1930s, London was the world's top capital, with a population of five million people, when Britain had a population of about 45 million. Nowadays, it is anyone's guess as to how many people live in London, or Great Britain. This is similar the world over.

In the 1930s, motor transport was in its infancy, but today there are millions of motor vehicles on the move every moment of the day and night the world over. Airliners are also in the air night and day.

Mankind has destroyed millions of acres of rainforest to build roads, houses and airports. In town centres, rows of properties have been demolished to make way for gruesome looking skyscrapers made mainly of glass and steel. All these add up to temperatures rising around the world.

My thoughts throughout life have been that mother nature controls the world's temperatures and there is not much we can do about it. Similarly, earthquakes, floods, forest fires and the effects of the sun are beyond our control. So, boffins and certain politicians, stop scaremongering, drink your bottled water, and use the money screwed out of taxpayers more wisely. Realise what a wonderful world you live in and that life is short. Use the money to benefit the have-nots of this world.
