The next check of the RAF Northolt landing systems is scheduled for next week.

The early-hours test can cause disturbance to people living under the flight paths around the airbase in Field End Road, Ruislip because it requires numerous approaches to both ends of the runway by the aeroplane carrying out the calibration tests for the Instrument Landing System and approach radar, between 11pm and 2am.

The tests have to be carried out when Heathrow Airport is not operating flights.

With warm weather likely, many people will be sleeping with bedroom windows open, and RAF Northolt has apologised in advance for any extra disturbance this may cause.

The tests will be carried out starting at 11pm on both July 21 and 22.
