People can now vote for their favourite park in the nationwide search for Britain’s park of the year.

All 13 of Ealing ’s parks which were awarded a Green Flag in July are now in the running to be named the country’s most loved park in Keep Britain Tidy’s annual People’s Choice Award.

Voting is now open and Ealing Council is now encouraging people to get voting by visiting www.greenflagaward.org.uk, selecting Ealing on the interactive map, picking your favourite park and clicking ‘vote for this site’.

Voting closes at midday on September 30 and the winner will be announced on October 16.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “Winning 13 green flags this year was a fantastic achievement for Ealing. We all have our personal favourites so why not make it an even better year by casting your vote in the People’s Choice Award to get your favourite local park recognised nationally.

“Let’s get voting and hopefully one of our lucky 13 will go all the way to win the People’s Choice Award.”

Paul Todd, Green Flag Award scheme manager, said: “Following a record breaking year for the Green Flag Award we are now asking the public to decide which of the 1,482 parks and green spaces deserves the coveted People’s Choice Award 2014.”
