Northwick Park Hospital gave the league of friends a very small outlet when they took away the shop and gave it to WH Smith.

This meant that most of the volunteers were no longer needed to serve. Instead of having these dedicated people as members of the league of friends, the chairman sent them a letter saying they were no longer needed to be in the league of friends. These are the people who over the years have made £7million for equipment which the hospital could not have afforded too long.

Surely these people could have been left in the league so that perhaps in the future they might have an opportunity to help the hospital again.

I think they have been treated very badly. It certainly will make me think twice about volunteering for anything if this can happen.
