VINNIE Jones received a hero's welcome when he returned to his footballing roots at Wealdstone.
The former midfield general, now a Hollywood film star, took to the stage at Ruislip Manor Sports & Social Club last night, where he regaled the 150-strong crowd with stories spanning his whirlwind career.
Jones, part of the double winning Stones team of the 80s, posed for pictures, signed autographs and answered questions from fans.
"To Wealdstone I owe a lot," he said. "The club is indebted in my heart and it's lovely to be back to raise some money to help keep it going."
Jones, who had earlier took part in a golf day at Stockley Park, also talked about his memories of Wealdstone, that picture with Paul Gascoigne and life in Los Angeles.
