Many people choose a candle-lit dinner at their favourite restaurant or find the perfect moment during a romantic getaway, but when 24-year-old Chris Bolwell decided to pop the question to his girlfriend of four years Sarella Kapungwa he knew he needed to pull out the big guns.

Mr Bolwell wanted to make his proposal to his 25-year-old girlfriend personal, but he also wanted to pack a punch.

Which is why he recruited the help of Ruislip performing arts school JAM2000 to make sure Miss Kapungwa was made an offer she couldn't refuse - during a flashmob at intu Uxbridge.

See for yourself if Sarella gave the answer Chris was hoping for (the proposal is at 5.00) ....

Of course she did!

Sixty performers from the school based at The Windmill Studio Centre in Pembroke Road, Ruislip, gave a performance based on Ms Kapungwa's favourite film Pirates of the Caribbean.

The flashmob outside Debenhams on Sunday, June 29 at 2pm, was made in front of not only the couples' friends and family, but also shoppers who had no idea what was about to happen.

It is the second time this year the talented JAM2000 performers have surprised Uxbridge shoppers after breaking into dance in April.

The future Mr-and-Mrs met at university in their first year but it took Mr Bolwell a year to pluck up the courage to speak to his future wife after he saw her writing the Elvish alphabet from Lord of the Rings in her notebook.

They discovered they were both huge fans of the film and four years on, it is a different kind of ring bringing the couple together.

Back in 2011 a man in Hounslow popped the question to his girlfriend in front of 400 cinema goers.
