The young family of a woman who died after battling skin cancer want to raise money for charity by sharing a video filmed at her funeral.

Scores of people turned out to remember the life of Kerri Parker at Breakspear Crematorium in Ruislip on Thursday last week.

The 42-year-old was diagnosed just after falling pregnant with her daughter Crea, two, and decided to put off treatment until after she gave birth.

Kerri’s husband, Martin, said his wife had been ‘mad on helping others’. “She was always looking out for everyone else and helping everyone else,” he said.

“Even when she was in hospital she was always looking after everybody all the time, so we wanted to make something for her and raise money so that other people don’t have to go through the same thing.”

Musician Kit Bradshaw, whose concerts the Parkers often went to see, came to Ruislip to give an emotional performance of the Passenger song Let Her Go during the funeral.

The performance was filmed and uploaded to YouTube by recording company Chiswell Studios, and the video will raise funds for Cancer Research by asking people to donate money before or after they view it, by texting CSKP99 £1 to 70070.

The mum-of-one moved from Ruislip to West Sussex after her diagnosis. Close friend Amanda Frolich, said: “She was so loved throughout Ruislip, everybody loved her and so many people turned out on Thursday,

“She always wanted us to raise money for Cancer Research so a lot of us are doing the Race for Life and we came up with the idea of making a video that will donate money every time someone watches it.

“It is trying to make something positive out of something that is so sad and doing something that will carry on her memory and help others in the future,” she said.

The video helped to raise just under £300 over the Easter weekend. You can also visit Kerri Parker’s Just Giving donation page to donate www.justgiving.com/kerriparkersong.
