THE man who tragically died at his workplace in Hayes after being crushed by a car transporter has been named as John Wallace.

Mr Wallace, 49, was on the lower deck of a car carrier in the car park at Ontime Automotive's head office in Pasadena Close, Hayes, when the upper deck collapsed on top of him on the morning of May 31, according to police.

He died at the scene.

Mr Wallace, who lived in Hayes, was an HGV driver for the company.

A post mortem was held at Uxbridge Mortuary on Tuesday last week, June 4.

The inquest, which opened at West London Coroners Court on Friday last week, was adjourned to a later date. No provision cause of death was given.

The police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are investigating.
