The book is a collection of short stories originally published in veterinary journals, plus some new material. It was originally intended for a veterinary audience it has been adapted for a wider readership.

Mr Atkinson, says the stories include a record of some amusing and interesting cases and clients, with some fantasy and reflections on life in general but with a veterinary theme.
