A YOGA instructor from Uxbridge has been selected to star on-screen in a Nintendo Wii fitness game.

Kiran Lynch, 33, from Maygoods Close, Cowley, was chosen above dozens of applicants across the country and teaches classes weekly at Fitness First in Uxbridge High Street.

She has become the face and body of the new Nintendo game which encourages and allows those wishing to take up yoga to do so in the comfort of their front room via on-screen one-to-one tutorials and challenges.

She said: "I put in an application for it, because I thought if there is one thing I am 100 per cent certain about in life, it's yoga.

"I was eventually chosen as one of three instructors, and I spent two days filming in Banbury, and then doing voiceovers."

Yoga is in her family blood as her grandfather was also an instructor in India.

"I've been teaching in Uxbridge for about three years and this is a great achievement for myself and my yoga career.

"It will be great for the public to know that I teach in Uxbridge and would certainly put Uxbridge on the map in the health and yoga community."

Kiran also teaches in Slough, and High Wycombe.

The game is called 'NewU Fitness First, Mind, Body, Yoga, Pilates Workouts' and is available to buy from April 2.
