A HEADTEACHER has been personally thanked by David Cameron.

At a 10, Downing Street reception, Peter Lang, headteacher of Uxbridge High School in The Greenway said the Prime Minister thanked him and school staff for their hard work and achievements.

He had been invited because of him commendation in the south-east category of the Pearson Teaching Awards, and was there to represent the school's Guidance and Inclusion Team, who won regional team of the year.

He said: It was a red letter day for Uxbridge High School."

The Guidance and Inclusion Team is responsible for behaviour and attendance, which it says have improved 'significantly' in recent years, acting as a catalyst for improved GCSE and A-level results.

Team members include Zoe Chivers, Manpreet Panesar, Sarah Herbert, Beth Rawlings, Naomi Fisher and Daisy Rahman.
