COMMUTERS were left stranded at rush hour after a points failure on the track between Uxbridge and Hillingdon tube stations.
Passengers who boarded the train at approximately 4.25pm at Uxbridge were told to leave the carriages because of technical problems.
A lack of information meant number swelled at the platforms at Uxbridge tube station throughout rush hour, with some passengers losing their temper, and TfL staff attempting to calm the commuters down.
Many who attempted to get buses, either the U2 to Hillingdon Station, or the 331 or U5 to Ruislip, found themselves unable to because the large numbers could not fit onto the buses, with people bundling and pushing in attempts to get on.
The trains did not begin running again until around 6.15pm, by which time most people had either made alternative routes or been substantially delayed.
