AFTER reading your article in the Ealing Gazette, I thoroughly agree that something has to be done to improve the appearence of Acton High Street.

I agree that more businesses are needed to move into the area to create more jobs.

But before that can be done, you have to improve the look of Acton High Street and Churchfield Road areas.

The high street itself is a disgrace, with too many food shops, from which you get rubbish littering the streets and pavements, especially at weekends and holidays.

We need less take away food shops and greengrocers on the high street. That would improve the look and there would be less litter and also pavements would not get so greasy from the food that has been dropped over a time, in particular, outside McDonald's in Acton High Street.

I have written to you before, some while ago, over this issue. Acton will continue to be a passing-through place, and will NOT attract new businesses while it remains in its present state. It is a SLUM!

It has been the same since I moved up here 10 years ago, only worse.

I still prefer to shop in either Ealing, or now at the Westfield shopping centre.

At least there I don't have to look at a depressing sight, with rows and rows of food shops.

It proves that things have to be done to improve the Acton area.

I cannot get a swap to a nicer area, because, in all honesty, who would want to move here?

I am still trying to move to a better area, by swapping, as I do not have money to put down on a private place, being a pensioner.

So I am all for improvement, and don't delay. I go out of the area every day, as I can't stand the present sight of Acton High Street.
