A YOUTH football match had to be abandoned at half-time on Sunday after a fight between spectators on the sidelines.

A YOUTH football match had to be abandoned at half-time on Sunday after a fight between spectators on the sidelines.

The U8s match between West Drayton Explorers and West Drayton Youth at Stockley Park, Uxbridge, will be investigated by the Middlesex County FA after the incident was reported to the Hayes & District Youth League by one of the clubs concerned.

The unsavoury incident comes at at time when the FA has stepped up its nationwide Respect drive with an "Are you losing it?" campaign that targets abusive grassroots players and parents.

The Middlesex FA will look into the allegations once they have received an official report from the Hayes & District Youth League.
