AN UNEXPLAINED glowing orb has been spotted by a Ruislip family.
Loraine Wiley of Beechwood Avenue, Ruislip, has sent photos into the Uxbridge Gazette of what can only be described as a floating light in the sky.
She said: "On May 31 my family and I spotted what looked like quite a low flying aeroplane on fire flying behind our house.
"We all stood and watched it from our back door, trying to work out what it was. My children were worried because they thought it was a meteorite, but we assured them it wasn't because it wasn't zooming to earth, it was flying steadily.
"We watched it until it disappeared out of vision behind a tree and waited for it to come out the other side. It didn't so we went down our back alley and on to the next road to see around the tree and it was there, but it had stopped and was just hovering in one spot.
"I grabbed my camera and took two photos and when I have zoomed in one of the photos it looked like two balls of fire and the other was more like one round object.
"We stood for about 10 minutes watching it and it didn't move. We eventually went inside and when my partner went back out about 10 minutes later it was gone.
"I have been wondering about it but didn't think too much of it until a friend told me that sightings of 15 glowing orbs had been reported in the local Brighton paper and orbs had been spotted over Lincolnshire and Hertfordshire as well."
On Monday the Daily Telegraph published a story on their website about campers in the Lake District who had seen the orbs.
There have also been recent sightings reported in Mid Sussex, Weston, Merseyside and Cambridgeshire.
