A two-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car at Asda in Wembley on Thursday night.

Police were called at about 8.40pm (September 11) to the store in Forty Lane, Wembley after reports of an incident involving a car and a child in the car park area.

London Ambulance Service paramedics treated the little girl at the scene and she was taken by road to Northwick Park hospital in Harrow where she died.

The girl was with her mother at the time of the collision. The driver of the car was not arrested.

Police say a post-mortem examination will be arranged. They have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or with any information that may assist police to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Alperton on 020 8991 9555.

In a separate incident also on Thursday a 14-year-old girl was injured by a car in Harrow.
