Two stores will open in The Pavilions shopping centre in Uxbridge this week.

Shoe retailer Hotter and beauty products company The Body Shop will both welcome their first customers in the centre's Market Mall area on Thursday, November 6.

Both adjacent units had previously been occupied by clothing store Magenta, which closed in April.

The footwear company, which has 71 branches across the UK and is the country's largest shoe manufacturer, will create seven jobs at its new 170m² shop.

Store manager Marc Laccarino said: “We are looking forward to giving our customers a warm welcome and a level of service which will really make us stand out.”

The Body Shop, which has 2,500 stores in 61 countries, is currently located in the High Street shopping centre's Chequers Walk Mall, where it first opened around 15 years ago.

However, 15 shops in that mall will soon be consolidated, together with the mall itself, to make way for a 'major national retailer' – rumoured to be Primark.

All six of the store's staff will relocate to the new unit. The existing shop will continue trading until the day before the reopening, Wednesday, November 5.

The store will hold an official opening at its new premises on Saturday, November 8, where a representative from the Michael Sobell Hospice, in Northwood, will cut the ribbon.

Diana Plavko, the store's assistant manager, said: “We are going to have a lot of activities planned for the grand opening day.

“It is all about people being part of the community and being involved in the community.”

The first 100 customers at the store, which will open at 10.30am, will receive goody-bags worth £15, and staff will also be offering free make-overs and hand massages.
