Two people were taken to hospital after a motorcycle and van crashed in Chiswick this morning (May 6).

Both patients who were on the motorbike escaped without any injuries following the road traffic collision on Stamford Brook Avenue.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) sent two ambulance crews to the scene.

A LAS spokeswoman said: "We were called at 7.40am to Stamford Brook Avenue to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a van.

"Two patients both from the motorbike were taken to Chelsea and Westminster hospital as more of a precaution than for injuries."

Following the accident, Stamford Brook Road near the junction of Stamford Brook Avenue was closed while the accident was cleared up.

Once re-opened traffic crawled in both directions.

Mototrists were urged to use alternative routes and to expect delays in the Chiswick and Stamford Brook areas.

Last week, a pedestrian was hit by a car on Hanworth Road in Feltham.
