TWO men were rescued from a house fire in Greenford last night (September 8).

They were saved by firefighters and treated for smoke inhalation at the scene in Avon Road by the London Ambulance Service before being taken to Ealing Hospital.

The London Fire Brigade was called at 9.15pm, four fire engines attended with 21 firefighters and officers and the blaze was under control by 10pm.

One ambulance crew, a duty officer and members of the hazardous response team were also sent out.

Part of the ground floor of the two-storey terraced house was damaged and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
