A SUSPECTED crack house has been shut down and two men arrested in a dawn raid.

Officers from Ravenscourt Park Safer Neighbourhood Team used a warrant to enter the council flat in Vencourt Place, off King Street, Hammersmith, following complaints from neighbours about young people smoking cannabis in the communal stairwells.

A man and woman, both 35, were arrested on suspicion of allowing the misuse of drugs at the property, and a large quantity of drug paraphernalia was seized. They were bailed pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Colin Trowles said: “Reading some of the impact statements it was abundantly clear just how the residents’ lives had been blighted by the anti-social behaviour, and the successful closure has sent out a clear message that we listen to our community and act upon the information they provide.”

A spokesman for Notting Hill Housing Trust, which manages the block, said it would continue to work with police to tackle anti-social behaviour.
