Fire ripped through a flat in a towerblock on the Clem Attlee Estate in Fulham on Tuesday.

The blaze hit the five-room flat on the sixth floor of the 17-storey block at about 1.40pm. It is not known if anyone was in the flat at the time, but a total of 25 neighbours managed to escape before the fire took hold. Half the flat has been destroyed.

Thirty firefighters in six engines tackled the blaze, which was put out by 2.40pm.

The cause is under investigation.
