THE two-day tube strike which started last night (Monday) has hit commuters in Hillingdon and west London.

The Metropolitan line is running on most of the line, but not between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Amersham. From Uxbridge, it departs five minutes, 25 minutes and 45 minutes past the hour.

There is no Piccadilly Line service between Uxbridge and Acton Town. There are only trains between Hammersmith and Heathrow Airport, running every 20 minutes.

There are also Central line trains from West Ruislip, but only to North Acton.

Londoners attempting to get to work using public transport have cented their frustrations twitter to vent their frustrations.

@MissLuciAlice posted: "50 minutes from Eastcote to Northolt... 2 miles away! Another 8 miles to go before I get to work! #tubestrike."

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union are staging the walk-out over plans to close all ticket offices, at a cost of 960 jobs.

The strike started at 9pm last night (Monday) and ends at 8.59pm on Wednesday, although disruption may continue into Thursday morning.

This strike will finish at 9pm tomorrow (Wednesday, April 30).

Another 72-hour strike is due to commence next Monday, May 5.
