THE Tory/ICG junta of Hounslow should hang their heads in shame after trying to grab what they consider is headline news with the zero per cent council tax rise folly.
They are prepared to take money from the poorest people in Hounslow by stopping school uniform grants. They are also prepared to cripple many community groups and centres by increasing charges - in some cases from £19 a year to £32 - as in the case of Heston community centre.
Education is not exempt, with increased charges to schools of up to 82 per cent, so money that should be improving your child's education is being sucked out.
Also, the increased costs of the Tidy Town service has meant fly-tipping is once again rampant across Hounslow, bringing extra costs of £300,000 a year.
To top all this, the ruling junta has now become London's eighth worst council for the collection of council tax, with Westminster being number one - all this in the name of efficiency.
Something tells me that if you collected the money you are owed, then you would not have to cut the services you provide. It also came as no surprise when the overpaid consultants who have been busy making people redundant have stated in their own reports that the council is in danger of not providing the legal statutory services - and that was over a year ago.
