Three Harefield Academy students achieved triple gold after travelling to Ukraine to compete in an international gymnastics tournament.
Twins Ryan and Connor Bartlett, Lewis Falconer and James Karageorgis, who all train at the Heathrow Gymnastics Club, competed in the 22nd Stars Above the Boug River tournament, in Vinnitsa, between February 28 and March 2.
Year 10 student James achieved gold in the 11-16 mixed pairs and Lewis, also in year 10, came top spot in the men’s pairs.
Connor, who is in year 12, achieved gold as part of a junior men’s four.
He said: “It’s a really good competition where the standard is extremely high. It really is good preparation for our next set of competitions.”
His brother, Ryan, won silver in the junior men’s pair round, just missing out on the top spot to a Russian pair in the final.
Pat Cottis, director of specialism at The Harefield Academy, said: “We are all really proud of what the boys achieved. They spend hour upon hour training to achieve this standard and have shown that they can achieve among the best on the international stage.”
