A FORMER IT worker found dead a week after going missing has been described by his family as a “kind and loving husband, dad and grandad”.

Ian Beaver’s body was discovered by a member of the public in a wooded area near to Hayes End Road, Hayes, on the evening of August 27.

The inquest into the 48-year-old death’s was opened and adjourned at Uxbridge Mortuary on Wednesday, August 29.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious, and the cause has yet to be determined.

He had not been seen since the previous Tuesday when he left his home in Hayes without taking his car or motorbike, and failed to return. Police made a missing persons appeal the following day.

Mr Beaver’s family said in a statement: “Ian was a kind and loving husband, dad and grandad.

“He had been out of work since February and recently became depressed, suffering severely with poor mental health. He will be incredibly missed by his family.”

He leaves behind his wife Susan, a son, a daughter and a granddaughter.

Mr Beaver, originally from Stockport, Greater Manchester, had worked at Tracker, a stolen car recovery firm based at Cowley Business Park, in High Street, Cowley, for nearly five years from 2007.

Colleague Mike Janaway said: “Ian worked in IT and would drop in on all departments, so he was well known in the office.

“Some of the staff got together to play football at Rosedale College every Monday, and considering his slim frame, he was one of the better players. He was quite sporty.

“We are shocked and saddened by Ian's death, and our thoughts are with his family. Farewell Ian.”

The date of Mr Beaver’s funeral has not yet been set.
