TRIBUTES are being paid to a 'bubbly and delightful' teenage girl who died on Tuesday, four days after a road collision in Northolt.

Sakina Ahmed, 17, who lived in Northolt, was on foot on Friday when she was involved in an impact with a blue Toyota Aygo in Petts Hill at the junction of Wood End Lane at 1pm.

She was treated for serious head injuries at a London hospital until succumbing to her injuries yesterday (Tuesday afternoon).

Police said the Toyota driver stopped at the scene but they are still seeking witnesses.

Sakina was in her last year of sixth form at St Dominic's College, Mount Park Avenue, Northolt and was hoping to go to University.

Her headteacher Patrick Harty said today: "It is very sad, it is still very roar at the moment, our students are extremely upset. We held a short service in the chapel yesterday morning for the students to light candles and pay their respects.

"I have never seen so many students in the chapel before, there were at least 300. She was a very bubbly and delightful girl, she was always looking to help other people so many of the students are very upset about the whole thing."

Sakina was studying economics, English and French, she scored 100 per cent in her economics module last year. Mr Harty called her a "star pupil", adding that she excelled at economics.

DC Jim Hastings of the Road Death Investigation Unit said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Petts Hill around the time of the collision to come forward and speak to our officers.

"We are trying to build up a picture of the events leading up the collision, and of the collision itself. If you saw or heard anything, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, please contact us as your information may prove vital in piecing together the events of this tragic incident."

People have also taken to Twitter to pay tributes to the teenager.

Sakina, who had just finished her AS Levels, also helped out at Stanmore Jaffery's, a community group run as part of the Hujjat Stanmore Mosque, where Sakina worshipped. She had also started to teach young primary school children classes at the madrassa.

Her funeral was due to take place at the Hujjat Stanmore Mosque on Wednesday September 19.

Officers from the Met's Road Death Investigation Unit based at Alperton investigate and appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact their witness appeal line on 0208 842 1817.
