A FORMER single mum who struggled to get a job managed to set up her own business after running a stall at Acton Market.
Susanne Roberts was nominated by John Blackmore, chief executive of Action Acton which runs Acton market. He said: "She has made an amazing achievement, from running a stall in the market to her own business, where she sells her own goods as well as those of other traders."
Susanne, now married and a mother of three, runs Silver Cloud, selling her hand-made jewellery as well as African masks, wind chimes, paintings and clothes for other local traders.
She said: "I was a single mum and no one would employ me. Action Acton helped get me off the ground. If it hadn't been for them, who knows what would have happened."
