AT A SAVE Ealing Centre meeting last Monday, Conservative councillors said they have no money to fund a vital transport interchange at Ealing Broadway and no plans to try to raise the money.

The estimated cost is £30-40million and they did admit TfL and the government would stump up some of the cash towards the cost if the council was to pursue it. On this basis, the council would probably only have to find about half (ie £20m).

But still they say they won't pay for it - even if it means our town centre degenerates further.

If they are pleading poverty, one has to ask, why they just threw £6.5m away in cheap £50 election bribes to voters?

One has to ask why the £50 bribes were paid so indiscriminately to households who never even paid council tax in the first place because the rest of us subsidise them already?

The Conservative leader shows his arrogance by being so free with our money.

He has used our money for his gain, not ours.
