IN THE lead-up to the Copenhagen Climate Change summit, the Tories' slogan was Vote Blue; Go green.

Now I notice that when the Conservative Party recently published its top 10 reasons to vote Tory, the environment didn't even make the list.

Just a few years ago, David Cameron was urging us to believe that it was his top priority.

He even went to the Arctic to be photographed with a husky.

Climate change and other environmental threats will be some of the biggest policy issues facing our planet and our country during the next parliament and beyond.

The inconsistencies shown by Cameron suggests he sees them less as policy threats and more as PR opportunities to be taken advantage of.

We need sustained action if we are to beat off these threats.

I have signed up at website www.edspledge.com and would urge others to do so.
