A hospice is inviting men, women, children and even dogs to dress up in pink for the biggest event in its fundraising calendar.

Hundreds are expected to take part in the fifth annual Michael Sobell Hospice 'Ladies in the Night' walk on June 12.

Participants can choose between either a five-and-a-half- or a nine-mile route.

The event will start at 10am, kicking off with a fun warm-up session at the hospice in Rickmansworth Road, Northwood, followed by a 'magical moonlit walk' through Northwood, Moor Park and Northwood Hills, and ending with breakfast back at the hospice.

Men, women, children aged over 11 and pet pooches are all welcome.

More than 400 people took part in last year's event, raising more than £60,000 for the hospice, which looks after local people with life-limiting illnesses.

Organisers hope to smash that total this year and have set themselves a target of £80,000.

Melanie Burfitt, director of income generation, said: “This is the biggest event in the hospice’s fundraising calendar and gives members of the community a chance to have fun and support a great local cause.”

The hospice is offering tickets at £10 rather than £20 for those who register before the end of January. Teams of 10 or more people will also receive tickets at £10 per person if they register before the end of March.

Prices include a T-shirt, a fundraising pack and breakfast.
