IN RESPONSE to Roy Wicks' letter 'Future concerns me, not the past' (Chronicle, March 5). For Mr Wicks' information, history forms the past, present and the future and facts speak for themselves.

I have little time for arguments and opinions based on ill-informed information, speculation or prejudice.

And, to be honest, I cannot under-stand how the tragic loss of life in any war, of which I am only too painfully aware, has got anything to do with the expansion of Heathrow Airport and one man living in Scotland declaring his support for it in a rather tongue-in-cheek letter which started our exchange.

With respect, Mr Wicks, get a grip and lighten up a bit, please.

IAN WESTOLL, Belgrave Road, Hounslow.

Editor's note: Time gentlemen please! No more in this exchange.
