I SAW Steve Pound on Sunday's Politics Show fulminating against Boris Johnson's proposed estuary airport; when can we expect a similar denouncement of the projected third runway at Heathrow?
His fellow panellists on the show, Justine Greening and Susan Kramer, have both strongly opposed it, as have many other MPs (eg John McDonnell, John Randall, Theresa May and Nick Raynsford). The other Ealing MPs, Virendra Sharma and Andrew Slaughter, have both resigned from the Government over the issue and local councillors like Richard Barnes, Michael Elliott and Ian Potts are long-standing opponents of Heathrow expansion.
Now the Mayor of London and several local authorities and environmental groups have gone to court over the Government's consultation on the third runway. Yet Steve Pound remains unusually silent on the issue. Perhaps we can expect him to take a stand on his next TV appearance?
