FIRES hit two domestic properties at different ends of the borough overnight, with residents rescued from both.
The drama started at a first floor maisonette in Wiltshire Lane, Eastcote, at about 6.10pm on Wednesday (Feb 1).
An elderly woman was rescued from the property by firefighters and was taken to Hillingdon Hospital by ambulance, suffering from smoke inhalation.
A 24-year-old woman also suffered facial injuries and was treated at the same hospital.
Crews from Harrow and Ruislip had the blaze was under control by 6.48pm.
And at about 2.30am on Thursday morning (Feb 2) a man had to be rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out in his second floor flat in Uxbridge Road, Hayes, near the junction with Grange Road and the Beck Theatre.
The man was treated for smoke inhalation at Ealing Hospital. A further two men had left the flat before the brigade arrived.
The blaze was believed to have started in the kitchen, in a property above a shop.
Crew manager Daniel Westcar from Hillingdon Fire Station said: "The flat didnt have any smoke alarms and the residents only became aware of the fire when they were woken up by the smoke.
"It is essential to have a working smoke alarm in your home as it can give you vital early warning in case a fire breaks out."
Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters were at the scene. A crew from Hayes also attended. They had the blaze under control by 3.16am.
The causes of both fires are under investigation.
