Three people were injured in an accident involving a motorbike and a car on the Uxbridge Road in Hanworth, during the evening rush hour yesterday (23).

Two men, both on the Honda motorcycle, were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The motorbike passenger believed to be 42-years-old who suffered from hip and leg injuries was taken as priority to St George's Hospital major trauma centre.

He was escorted by car with a doctor from the London Air Ambulance.

The bike rider, believed to be aged 22, was taken to West Middlesex Hospital with a back injury.

The third person, a female, the driver of the Vauxhall Corsa reported to be 33-years-old was treated for a neck injury at the scene but was not taken to hospital.

Paramedics treated all three people at the scene first.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London Air Ambulance attended.

A LAS spokesman said: "We were called at 5.46pm yesterday (23) to reports of a road traffic collision between a motorbike and a car in Uxbridge Road at the junction of Hounslow Road.

"We sent two responders by car, three ambulance crew and the London Air Ambulance to the scene.

"We treated three patients at the scene."

A police spokesman said: "We were informed at 5.49pm by London Ambulance Service.

"We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a car.

"London Fire Brigade were called to cut the roof of the car."

The accident caused major chaos for drivers as Uxbridge road was blocked which led to queues at Hounslow Road and Hampton Road West and tailbacks to Apex Corner.

Police reported traffic congestion was still heavy at 8.50pm and the vehicles involved in the incident were removed around 11.30pm.

 

According to TfL bus alert tweets the accident was cleared by around midight.

Earlier this month a woman injured in a road traffic accident on the A316 Country Way in Hanworth.
