DETECTIVES have arrested three people in connection with alleged misappropriation of funds at Copland Community School in Wembley.

A 53-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were arrested at an address in north London this morning.

The man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and the woman on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and theft. It is believed they are the former deputy headteacher of the school, Richard Evans, and his wife.

A 64-year-old man, believed to be the former headteacher Sir Alan Davies, was arrested at another house in north London in relation to conspiracy to defraud.

All three are currently being questioned at police stations in north west London.

The Metropolitan Police Fraud Squad began an investigation into allegations associated with the school's finances in June last year.
