More than 3,000 people in the Harrow Hindu community took part in the festivities of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday (April 4) at Harrow Leisure Centre.

Spiritual Leader His Holiness Shri RajRajeshwar Guruji and the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre led the festivities including a ground shattering devotional hymn that lasted for over six hours.

Hanuman Jayanti is a Hindu celebration of the birth of the Vanara god, Hanuman.

All attendees were provided with sanctified food, prasad.

Participants also witnessed the largest sweet offering ever in England, with 11kg of Ladoo offered to Lord Hanuman.

Local MP's Bob Blackman and Gareth Thomas joined prospective parliamentary candidates Hannah David and Uma Kumaran with the Mayor of Harrow, Ajay Maru, to support the celebrations.
