HERE is a copy of a letter I have sent to Harvester head office regarding a complaint with the state of hygiene in their restaurant in Ruislip.

I would be interested in knowing whether any of your other readers have had a similar experience: I AM a regular visitor to the Harvester in Ruislip, Middlesex, and we find is great value for money, the food is good and staff are generally quite friendly and helpful.

However we are finding what appears to be a disappointing standard of cleanliness in the restaurant and toilets a bit hard to ignore, and it seems to have been like this for a while, months if not years.

The carpets, floors, some furnishings and particularly the toilets look quite grubby and old and it is quite off putting when you are eating some-where, it also makes you wonder how clean the kitchens are.

The toilets in particular are a bit unpleasant, they look like they aven't had more than a superficial clean for a long time. I actually try to avoid using these facilities until I get home from my meal.

If the state of cleanliness at the Ruislip branch reflects the general standard we should expect from Harvesters, perhaps you could let me know and then we can reconsider whether we want to continue going to your restaurants.

Or are there plans to give the branch a deep clean or a makeover? All we would ask is that it seems clean and hygienic, I am sure other families would appreciate this too.

I look forward to receiving your comments.
