The weekend is upon us, and here is a small selection of events to keep you busy.

 - If it has been a hard week, let your hair down during an afternoon of pampering, ladies, and treat yourself to a makeover at Walter Pomeroy Hall, in Royal Lane, Hillingdon, on Saturday between 3-6pm.

There is a range of treatments to choose from – including hair styling, pedicure and manicure, facial, massage and foot rub and eye treatments.

There will also be stalls selling everything from chocolates, cakes and other treats, jewellery and accessories, baby products, and plenty of Mother’s Day gifts.

It is not a closed shop – men are also welcome to attend if they wish.

Entry is free, and the treatments will be rasonably priced.

 - The popular Brookhouse pub, in Kingshill Avenue, Hayes, will be starting St Patrick's Day celebrations a day early on Sunday (March 16), with a renowned Davitt Country Band on stage at 9pm.

On Monday, the pub will be pulling out all the stops to ensure it is one to remember.

There will be an all-day disco, and two live bands – Sundance at 3pm, and the Paul Gildare Band at 8.45pm.

Free Irish stew will be served to patrons, and there will be prizes and giveaways throughout the day.

 - With Brazil hosting this year's World Cup and then staging the Olympic Games in 2016, students from Brunel University are this Sunday hosting the Road To Rio chlidren's sports day.

Youngsters will get the chance to try ut new sports, as well as learn about the South American country's vibrant culture.

There will be table tennic, bocchia, futsal, tag rugby, and mini athletics, and those who want a break from the track or field can join a series of interactive design workshops and a quiz.

The Mayor of Hillingdon is a special guest.

It will be on from 9am to 3.30pm.

 - Over 200 exhibitions including lots of spring Daffodils will be on display at the Eastcote Horticultural Society's spring show, at Eastcote Community Centre in Southbourne Gardens, on Saturday. It will be open to the public between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
