A DRAMA group and charity celebrated 10 years of performances by holding a musical evening at Grim’s Dyke Hotel.

The Herts Inclusive Theatre, which offers opportunities for children both with and without special needs, hosted an opera evening with professional singers last Tuesday.

The audience of 80 enjoyed songs from well-known operas performed by Mike Bracegirdle and Lise Christensen.

Members of the theatre group greeted the guests as a variety of characters including a policeman, a butler and a celebrity being pursued by the paparazzi, to entertain them before the show.

About £1,000 was raised on the night, but this was matched by Barclays Bank in Wealdstone to double the total.

Producer Emma Harrington said: “The funds will help us to keep going, basically. This is the largest amount we have ever raised so will make a huge difference.”
