WHILE I agree with parts of Antoine of Ealing's letter about arts, literature and musical events to celebrate St George's Day along with the Cross of St George being flown from Government buildings, I totally disagree with MPs being involved with St George's Day.

Most of them have no concept of England, let alone St George.

St George, on hearing the edict from Rome that no Christian was allowed to worship, gave up his money and belongings and finally gave his life for his beliefs.

Contrast this to today's MPs, who cling onto power without the slightest regret of thier actions, take money from the taxpayers' purse to have second homes and a largesse of expenses.

No, it is best left to the people of England to celebrate St George's Day, who are quite willing to give their time and money.
