AS LOCAL residents, it was very encouraging to be at the Hillingdon north planning committee on March 2, to hear the committee turn down the application to build on Haydon Hall Meadows.

These meadows are a conservation area and part of the green belt corridor stretching from Old Eastcote to Northwood Hills.

They agreed with local residents that the protection of the green belt for future generations is vital to maintaining the character of the area.

We hope this strong local action has made it clear to any potential developer that the residents of Northwood Hills and Eastcote will vigorously fight any attempt to encroach on our green belt land.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the very large number of residents and local organisations who have campaigned to stop this development.

TERRY AND JOAN BUTFIELD

AND MAXINE AND BOB GOSWELL,
