I WOULD like to express my thanks to everyone whose votes have enabled the Brent River Park in Hanwell to win one of the 10 grants allocated by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to the Help a London Park scheme.

The overwhelming response is a testimony to just how much this fantastic park, at the heart of our borough, is loved and cherished by all.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to Steve Marshall and his team from the parks department for putting together the winning bid.

The £400,000 grant will be used to improve the animal centre and walking routes, to install a fitness trail and more bins as well as developing new signage and provide more planting. This will make the Brent River Park an even more enjoyable experience for people of all ages.
