Thames Water has been fined more than £2,000 for illegally blocking roads and pavements.

In the first incident, Thames Water workers on Cromwell Grove, Shepherd's Bush, carried out dangerous work without safety barriers. This forced pedestrians to walk in the street. During a separate repair in Hammersmith Grove, Shepherd's Bush, Thames Water workers carried out dangerous work without fencing off the site.

On Tuesday last week at West London Magistrates' Court in Hammersmith, the company was ordered to pay £2,275 in fines and costs.
